Support the 700 Strategy Workshop

#Supportthe700 is our work to increase awareness and action in service of youth leaving foster care. We want our elected officials to know about the issues faced by young people, and community members to learn more about how to show up for youth. And we want change!

Youth aging out of foster care deserve to see action from the people we elect to serve them. That’s why on May 27th, we’re getting organized.

Join Fostering Change and Organize BC for a full-day hands-on, interactive strategy day.  Community partners, young leaders, adult allies, and caring citizens are invited to join us in our continued efforts to #supportthe700.

We'll start by reviewing where our elected officials stand on this issue. Then we’ll get on the same page about how to design effective campaign strategies, before diving into brainstorming tactics and getting down to business on what it will take to implement them over the coming months.

Come prepared to think creatively about ways we could hold our elected officials accountable to supporting youth aging out of care.

Young leaders and adult allies have been working hard to change practices, policies and the systems that impact youth leaving foster care by way of youth and public engagement, relationship building and research. Join us to be part of this ongoing work.

Prior to the event, we will host a 20-minute one-on-one conversation with each person to get to know one another and answer any questions you might have about the campaign or workshop. When RSVPing, please make sure to provide a phone number that you can be reached at.

Please also let Kristina ([email protected]) know if you have any dietary restrictions we should be aware of (both meat and vegetarian options will be provided).
