Listen to Fostering Change's Trilby Smith on CBC Radio

On Wednesday morning, a story broke on CBC News about a new report that shows nearly three out of every five homeless youth were part of the child welfare system at some point in their lives, a rate almost 200 times greater than that of the general population.

Trilby Smith, Vancouver Foundation’s Director of Learning and Evaluation, was a reviewer for the report, and she appeared on CBC’s BC Almanac radio program to discuss the findings, how the national picture compares with BC, and what can be done about it. She was joined by report author David French, as well as Calum Scott, who is the Director of Youth Services at Family Services of Greater Vancouver.

Listen in for the intro at 5:50, or skip straight to Trilby, starting at 6.50.
